Claire and Katie were talking on the way to parent-teacher conferences today.

Katie- "What do you talk about there?"

Claire- "The teacher talks about how you're doing in school and whether you've been good."

Katie- "I've been good!"

Claire- "Hardly."

Four Year Old Logic

Me- “Claire, do you see your friend Tresslyn at school?”

Claire, all angry about being in first grade- “No! I don’t have any of my friends in my class!”

Me- “Well, don’t you see her at recess?”

Claire- “No! I never see her!"


Katie, the four year old- “Maybe she’s dead.”

Claire: Sometimes when I’m at school I’m nervous about getting a wedgie.

Me: Why’s that?

Claire: Because sometimes when I sit at my desk that happens. And then when I try to get it out, the teacher says, “Claire, you need to pay attention!” and I can’t because I have a wedgie.
