I Seriously Hope This Passes Before Her Teen Years.....

Marin is still taking all of her clothes off in her bed. She was better for a while but now that she is seriously working on the potty training it seems that she can’t tolerate a wet diaper. Or a slightly damp diaper for that matter. So, she simply throws everything over the side.

A couple of nights ago Marin was yelling for me an hour after I had put her to bed. I went to see what she needed and was greeted by a stark naked toddler.

Me- “Marin, what happened?”

Marin- “I wet.”

I got her cleaned up, took her to go potty and then into fresh jammies. Then I started with the mandatory lecture.

Me- “You need to leave your clothes on. Don’t take any clothes off. You leave your pants on. Ok?”

Marin- “Ok.”

Twenty minutes later Marin was again yelling. I walked into her room and discovered her naked. Before I had a chance to say anything, Marin looked at me, frowned and said, “I not happy you!”

During conversations like this, they say "ok" and I have NO IDEA what that means to them because obviously it is NOT an agreement to a joint reality or plan.

how can anyone get upset with that? I think they know exactly what to say and how to say it just to get right into our hearts. That's pretty freakin sweet.

I think you are both right. I THOUGHT that we had an agreement but clearly Marin had a different idea as far as the terms.

I couldn't be upset. When she informed me that she wasn't happy with me, I laughed. It almost seemed like she was all prepared with what she would say to explain her predicament.

Too cute and funny. Our youngest isn't so sophisticated. He just recently perfected the art of the "flinging yourself on the floor" tantrum. He does scream "poop" at random intervals though. Sometimes it's just a joke, and he laughs hysterically when I take off his diaper and there is nothing there... Little stinker.

I was reading your post out loud, and when I finished, Laney started saying "off". When I finally realized what she was saying, she was pulling on her own clothes saying "off" because she heard me reading about Marin taking clothes off. Oy.

Well it's happening here too. My 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter both sleep "Neked"....

I absolutely love reading about this wonderful child. She brings delight to me every week. And I'm thinking about the one where the mother says to us "I hope you have one that acts just like you." Could it be coming true for you?

That was from me. I can't type today.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a wild toddler.

And I do remember my mom saying that she hoped that I had a kid just like me someday...

I had one like that. Except, when he removed the "uncomfortable" diaper, he painted the walls, the crib and himself with the contents.
