Why is TV for Women SO Depressing?

This afternoon I sat down in the living room and changed the channel on the TV from Sponge Bob to LifeTime. Claire walked in just as there was a scene on TV showing a woman walking into an empty nursery, looking around and then sitting down in a rocking chair and crying.
Claire asked, “Did she lose her baby?”
I said, “I don’t know. Why do you think that?”
She replied, “Well, the room is empty and the crib is empty and her heart is empty.”

I am shocked at the level of empathy that she has at six.
