Yesterday my five year-old, Claire, had some questions about babies. She wanted specifics on where babies come from. I tried the story about how mommies and daddies decide that they want a baby and then the mommy has one in her tummy. Once again, she wanted specifics and was not even sort of satisfied with my response.
She said,”Yes, I know that mommies and daddies make the baby but how does it get in the mommy’s tummy and how does it get out?”
So, I suggested that she needed to ask her father that question.
She looked at me with disgust and said,”You don’t know, do you?”
