Sick Kids, Part 1289

No one will be surprised to read that I have had a houseful of sick kids. Usually not everyone is sick at the same time, they just pass it around so that there is always someone using more than their fair share of Kleenex. Just to mix things up a bit, Katie came down with the stomach flu for the second time this year.

A few days ago I was suffering from a sinus headache after catching a cold from Claire, also known as Typhoid Mary. Claire and Katie knew that I wasn’t feeling well and were trying to help. They decided to make me a cup of hot tea. They have seen me make tea and thought it looked easy enough. Evidently they did not notice, however, that I use the individual size tea bag. They prepared the tea with the family-sized tea bags. They then put honey in it just the way I like and proudly delivered the sticky cup.

I thanked them and tried to act as if it was normal for tea to be the same color as old motor oil. I made myself take a sip.

Me- “Wow, that is some really good tea!”

Katie- “We put sugar in it. And honey.”

Me- “Well, it’s really nice. Thank you.”

Katie, on her way out the door- “Well if you don’t like it, we’ll come back and stir it some more.”

Shortly after that, I was walking down the stairs and could hear the girls talking.

Claire- “Hey Katie, stop that! That’s illegal. Hurry, put Marin in the clown suit!”

It kind of made me what I had been missing. By the time I made it downstairs any evidence of contraband had been hidden or disposed of. I entertained the notion of questioning Claire about her sister’s illegal activities but decided it was just easier to not ask.

Ignorance is definitely bliss! You're awesome! I haven't been able to get sick in the last three years because I'm so afraid to give up the Mommy Control!

Welcome to SITS! We're glad to have you with us!

I think everyone's kids are sick right now, which just makes it worse cause they pass it back and forth.

I hope you guys feel better soon. And no more illegal activity happens.

Welcome to SITS!

Yes, but curiousity will kill the cat, and I'm dying to know what was "illegal"!?

Does anyone have healthy children right now? I'm thinking we need to flip the school calendar and take December, January and February off, instead of the summer months.

Bet you $10 flu, strep throat and bronchitis would be banished from the Earth.

Welcome to SiTS!! Em

I firmly believe that the good Lord is going to have to stop issuing kids. Yours are so cute that He can't improve the model.
